There are only a few people in the world who will:
 
• summit Kilimanjaro (5895 m) over 6 days (this is not raced)
• compete in a two day mountain bike race around Kilimanjaro (246 km) and
• finish the Kilimanjaro Marathon (42,2 km).

The one with the fastest summerized time on the bike race and the marathon sections will be the KiliMAN!

	Kilmanjaro Marathon 2008 in Moshi		KiliBike 2008

• With a limited participation of only 60, this race from 19 February - 02 March 2009 is set to become the Ultimate in Adventure Challenges.

• Even if you are not “The Kili[MAN]” come and take part in the other challenges. For a detailed description see Other Challenges. There is a possibility to compete in a team of 3, or start small and bike only or come to the Kilimanjaro Marathon, even if you run in 6 hours.



• The long distance and altitude gain, combined with the intense cold on the mountain climb, rough tracks and steep ascents on the cycle, and then the challenging route of the Kilimanjaro Marathon will make the winner of this event proud to wear the title Kili[MAN], given in two categories for women and men.

• The hike to the summit is NOT a race. The winner of the Kilimanjaro Adventure Challenge will be the person with the best combined cycle and marathon time, and who has summitted with us on the 25 Febuary after 5 days guided ascent for acclimatisation. If someone fails to summit they can continue with other sections but will not be in line for the title.

• The event is managed by Chagga Tours (www.chagga-tours.com)

• We will assist with flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Nairobi

• The competition is open to persons 21 years and older, who have made a registration, affirmed the rules and conditions. Last day for registration is 09 JANUARY 2009.

Kili[Buddy-Team]
If you are looking for team members … set up a “Buddy Team”! The foreign members of the teams are asked to sponsor at least one Tanzanian member to join their team. The aim of this is to allow Tanzanian athletes a chance to participate in this event, at a low price. Buddy team members costs benefit from local park fees (about 1.5 % of what foreigners pay!):
